Functional Capacity Evaluation
Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is used to help determine a client’s safe functional abilities, i.e. how much you can lift, carry, push, and pull. There are two types of FCE’s – general purpose and job specific. It can determine one’s ability to return to their current work situation or for other job placement opportunities. It can also be used for disability evaluations.
Those who are not ready to return to work may be a candidate for a Work Conditioning Program. This program will focus on flexibility strength, endurance, and work related functional activities. It is typically three to five days per week for 2-4 hours each day.
